1.Friedrich Portable Error Codes:

Error code reason

E1 electrical sensor is short on both temperature and PCB.

E2 Lack of power of temperature sensor copper tubes and PCB wires.

E4 The signal indicates complete or poor contact to the tank’s water tank. The user needs to take out the rubber stopper which is located at the bottom of the unit, allowing water to drain out. Check the plug is wired correctly.

E1 SHORT CYCLE SITUATION: Defined as a compressor that starts and stops more often (more than 6 times per hour).

E2 KEYBOARD STUCK ERROR: If a key button is stuck or pressed for 20 seconds or more, the unit gets stuck. If the key is stuck, it will be ignored until released. If the “mode” key(button) is stuck, the unit’s function will default to cool mode.

E3 FROST PROBE OPEN: Normal operation allowed. Change the probe.

E4 FROST PROBE SHORT: Normal operation allowed. Change the probe.

E5 INDOOR PROBE OPEN: The control assumes that the indoor ambient temperature is 90 degrees F and the unit will operate. Change the probe.

E6 INDOOR PROBE SHORT: The control assumes that the ambient temperature is 90 degrees F and the unit will operate. Change the probe.

E3 AMBIENT (INDOOR) AIR PROBE OPEN or SHORT: Control will assume ambient temperature is 90 ° F when in cool mode and 60 ° F when in heat mode. The unit will operate (see note below)

E4 EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE PROBE OPEN or SHORT: Normal operation allowed. Change the probe.

E5 CONDENSER TEMPERATURE PROBE OPEN OR SHORT: Normal operation allowed. Change the probe.

E7 motor operation

E9 heat pump failure
The error code must be in unit test mode to enter the function. Activation error code mode: press the time on / off button (see Figures 4 and 5). The LED error code for TIMER On / Off will flash 1bps (beats per second) when mode is activated. Press the temp button / hour button will display “00”. Constant presses will scroll through all the error codes stored. Press the Temp / Hour button to see the reverse order of the error code. The temperature set point will appear when the end of the stored error code is reached. (Each error code is listed once).

Exiting fault code mode: Pressing the timer on / off button. Clearing error code: error codes become clear
By exiting the error code mode from memory.

Memory
Electronic controls have a memory to maintain all functions and settings, as installed by the user, in the event of a power failure. For example: Once power is restored to the unit, there is a delay of two seconds before the fan arrives and about three minutes before the compressor is activated, provided that the mode is set to cool. Went and the set point temperature is not found in the room.

Automatic component protection
Your unit is equipped with automatic component protection. To protect the unit’s compressor, if you turn the unit off or if power is interrupted, there is a three-minute delay. The fan will not be affected. Also, if you switch from Cool mode to Fan only mode, and return to Cool mode, there is a delay of three minutes before the compressor returns.
