Fruit Fly Trap Do you have a swarm of fruit flies in your kitchen or bathroom that you need to get rid of? What a hassle! Making this simple, homemade trap from things you already have in your cupboard will swiftly rid your home of fruit flies in minutes.
Materials
- Vinegar from apples
- Laundry detergent
- A small bowl or a jar
CAUTION
Liquid dish soap is not safe to eat, despite the fact that vinegar is the main ingredient. Children should not have access to this solution.
Steps to Take

Remove any overripe fruit that could attract fruit flies before you begin.
Fill a jar or small basin halfway full with apple cider vinegar. (It is not necessary to be precise.)
Fill the jar halfway with dish soap. (Don’t combine the ingredients.)
Set the trap in the area where the fruit flies have been spotted and wait for it to work. The container will soon be overflowing with fruit flies that have been drowned. Rinse and repeat until you’ve exhausted all of your options.

- Ensure that you dispose of your garbage on a regular basis.
