Samsung Microwave SE Code Error Fixing

Samsung Microwave SE Code Error Fixing Steps

Samsung Microwave SE Code An error code will show up when something goes wrong with your microwave. Although this can be inconvenient, it’s important to keep in mind that your microwave is only keeping you from using a potentially dangerous item.

“SE” is one of the most often seen error codes on Samsung microwaves. Typically, rebooting your microwave, swapping out the control panel, or swapping out the control board will fix the SE error code.

When your Samsung microwave displays a SE code, it will also beep a few times before shutting off. You must address the root cause of the error code before it will function normally once more.

Please be aware that fixing microwaves can be extremely risky owing to the high-voltage components inside of them before starting the methods below. You shouldn’t do any of the below-listed repairs that require working on the microwave’s internal components if you are not a certified or experienced technician.

These Actions Should Be Followed To Fix The SE Error Code.

Step One: Reset Your Microwave

You can try to address the issue by just resetting your microwave before we look into the SE error code’s more technical causes.

Simply unplug your microwave from the wall and then switch it back on after a few seconds.

You can use your microwave normally if the code has disappeared. If the code is still visible, you must proceed to step 2.

Step Two: Examine the Control Pad

The control pad should then be examined if restarting the microwave didn’t fix the issue. The SE code is displayed when the control pad’s buttons quit functioning. If the microwave doesn’t respond when you push a button on the control pad but the control pad is still lit up, the control pad is likely defective.

How To Inspect The Control Pad Is As Follows:

  • Switch the microwave off at the fuse box or unplug it from the wall.
  • Take out a couple screws from the microwave’s back to remove the microwave cabinet; it should then slide out (consult your manual if necessary).
  • Find the control panel. The control panel, to which it is typically fastened, is connected to it via flat ribbon connectors.
  • After finding the connection, the first step is to test it with a multimeter to see if there is continuity. You must replace the connection component if the test yields no continuity.
  • After that, you can take the ribbon cable from the control board and thoroughly clean the copper contacts using an eraser and alcohol-propylene.
  • After reassembling your microwave and the parts, you can check to see if the problem number is gone. If not, the control panel will need to be replaced. A components supplier may sell you a new control panel.

How To Change The Control Panel Is As Follows:

  • Shut off your microwave by pulling the plug or by using your fuse box.
  • If you haven’t done so already, remove the microwave cabinet.
  • Find the screws holding the control panel in place and remove them. In some Samsung microwave models, you might also need to remove metal panels that prevent you from removing the screws from the control panel.
  • To remove the control panel, lift it up and away from the wall.
  • Cut the wires that are attached to the control panel.
  • After putting in your new control panel, reconnect the cables to the locations where you had previously removed the old ones.
  • After that, you can put the microwave back together.
  • After putting the microwave back together, you can check to see if the problem code is gone. If not, you’ll need to replace the control board. (See Below)

Step Three: Change the Control Board.

A defective control board is the next component that could be the source of the error code. This part’s function is to produce low voltages, which are then transmitted to the control pad. A signal is sent to the control board when a button on the control pad is pressed. In order to carry out your desired command, the control board will subsequently transmit a signal to other parts of your microwave.

Your microwave won’t operate properly and an error code will show up if the control panel doesn’t send out the right signals.

Since control boards are notoriously difficult to test, your best option is to just swap them out if you’ve already ruled out the control pad and panel as the source of the issue. You might be better off simply buying a new microwave, though, as they are pricey to replace.
