How To Fix Water In The Dishwasher Bottom
Water In Bottom Of Dishwasher My dishwasher is brand new, but it still has water in it. After I finish a load of dishes, the water is still there. The water at the bottom of the well is filthy. When I take the dishes out of the dishwasher, the water on my plates has a little odour. What is the simplest method for repairing my dishwasher?

The following are some of the reasons why a dishwasher has water at the bottom after a wash cycle:
- Food or object-clogged sump pump filter/drain basket
- Drain hose clog Make sure your drain hose is set on HIGH LOOP.
- If applicable, check AIR GAP (ANTI SIPHON).
- The drain pipe is clogging.
- The food chopping blade became stuck.
- A foreign object has been lodged in the pump.
- Clogged garbage disposal
- The float has been stuck.
- Dishwasher isn’t at the right level
The most common cause of water remaining at the bottom of a dishwasher is a blocked dishwasher filter/trap/drainage basket.
At the completion of the wash cycle, there should never be any water in the dishwasher. During the drain cycle, the unclean water is pumped out at the end of the cycle. Only when you open the door during a wash cycle should you notice water in your dishwasher.
- The pump filter (also known as the drainage basket – trap – catch) can become clogged with food, shattered glass, and broken dishes or plates. When cleaning out the pump filter, be careful because there may be sharp glass or broken plate bits. A glass cup or anything similar is frequently broken while loading or unloading a dishwasher. Those shattered fragments end up in the dishwasher and are generally detected in the pump filter. Your dishwasher’s filter can be found at the very bottom. Remove the bottom rack and look in the dishwasher’s bottom to determine whether the filter is clogged and preventing water from draining.
- Examine the drain hose. If the drain hose becomes clogged, water cannot be pumped out. It could also be kinked or bent. An anti-siphon loop in the drain hose may be required to prevent filthy water from flowing backwards into the dishwasher.
- A huge piece of food or a broken plate could clog the food chopping blade or the actual pump. Make sure the pump’s inlet housing isn’t obstructed as well. If this is the case, you will need to disassemble the dishwasher in order to have access to it. Here’s how to disassemble your dishwasher so you can get to the chop blade.
- The water from the dishwasher will not drain if the garbage disposal is clogged. The dishwasher drain pipe is usually linked to the garbage disposal. Make sure the garbage disposal isn’t clogged with water. When the dishwasher drains, you should hear water pouring into the disposal’s bottom.
- It’s possible that the water float is stuck. To check if it’s operating, remove the top cap and move it up and down to make sure it’s free-moving. Remove any gunk that may be obstructing its movement. If the water float is unable to descend, the drain cycle will be interrupted before it is completed.
- It’s possible that the dishwasher isn’t level. Your dishwasher’s front should feature little adjustable feet. These may be adjusted to prevent water from collecting in the front. Adjust the feet so that all of the water drains into the drain pump. If the feet are misaligned, the water may flow toward the front of the dishwasher, preventing the water from flowing over the drain and being drained out.
